The world needs World Can’t Wait, and we need YOU! Be a part of making visible, creative, and bold resistance possible in 2012.
We are launching a $50,000 end-of-year campaign to fund demonstrations on the 10th anniversary of Guantánamo; to make the national We Are Not Your Soldiers tour something that any kid considering joining the military knows about; and to organize a major presence at the G8, NATO, Democrat and Republican conventions this year. Everything that we do is infused with the message and understanding that the people of the world have to come first when we’re talking about changing things for the better: and as a crucial part of this the military occupations of other countries must be unequivocally ended. Your time, skills, energy, creativity, and a passion for real change will help us reach this goal and raise the resistance!
No matter where you are—whether you have 5 minutes or a week to spare—it all makes a difference!
Here are some ways to be involved in our $50,000 End-of-Year Campaign:
ORDER: Ordering items like buttons, t-shirts, and bumper stickers is a great way to help fundraise. We are going to have NEW t-shirts soon that you can order in bulk to give out for the holidays or better yet to sell at an Occupy or another progressive event near you. EMAIL: By simply forwarding our emails you can help expand the number of people who know about our work and can help support it.

CALL: Phonebank with us! Call your friends, family, co-workers and talk to them about World Can’t Wait, why you support this movement, and ask them to make an end-of-year contribution. Or we can provide you with a list to call. We will provide a script and a way to collaborate with other phonebankers. Phonebanking is a great way to do outreach, talk to new people, and give people a way to act. You can learn a lot and have fun too!
ORGANIZE: Help us organize a benefit in NYC for the National Day of Action Against Guantánamo in January. Host a New Year’s fundraising Party for A Better World. Let us know and we can help!
SHARE: Send us a statement on why you support World Can’t Wait. What is your favorite 2011 World Can’t Wait activity that you participated in? If you read our e-list or like us on Facebook—share what you gain from reading our stuff. Also, please send us your photos & video from World Can’t Wait 2011 actions.
VOLUNTEER: Graphic designers, videographers, editors, and livestream experts are always needed!
REACH OUT: Volunteer to hold the bucket and distribute flyers. We have been doing workshops and other actions at various occupations across the country. Meet up with us and encourage people to pitch in!
CREATE: Make a short flash slide show about World Can’t Wait for use online. Use images and graphics from our website to make buttons or stickers – send to us or distribute for donations in your area.
SEND: Send out a snail mailing to friends, family, & loved ones—we will provide sample letter and donor response card. If you are in NYC this week(end) come into our office and help send out our national mailing.
WRITE: Bloggers are needed! Spread the word about World Can’t Wait and this campaign online. Write about our history and submit as an Op-Ed or letter to the editor of a local paper or blog.
SPREAD: Help create a media buzz. Have a radio show or local TV program? Bring us on!
