Afghanistan is now really Obama’s war. He’s in it to "win" and "finish the job." Is it your war?
See VIDEO from Saturday in NYC: Elaine Brower, Mac Bica, Matthis Chiroux, Debra Sweet & Andy Zee on why we should protest and what difference it makes. You don’t end a war by sending more troops!
This is not a good war. You knew this when Bush started it. Why support it now?
The richest country with the most powerful highly militarized empire is destroying one of the poorest countries!
On Tuesday, December 1st, President Obama will announce plans to expand the occupation of Afghanistan with 34,000 more troops.
When tens of thousands more troops are sent, will you be home watching the news passively, or out shopping? Or, will you protest visibly and speak out loudly; NO!
The only resolution in the interests of the people of Afghanistan and the world, including the people of the U.S., is to get out of Afghanistan and end the occupation of Iraq also. Help ORGANIZE URGENT PROTESTSbefore and on Tuesday December 1 across the country.
No, these protests will not change the government’s plans. They know the majority of people is now against the occupation of Afghanistan, and they are trying to change that by bullying their way through an illegitimate occupation.
The purpose of our protests is to reach the people! We must be visible, and send a message world-wide that there are people living in this country who say — NO, not in our name!
I will be outside the White House Tuesday evening December 1 while the president tries to sell the war escalation. WHO WILL JOIN ME? Write me if you’re coming. We’re starting @ 5:00 pm. Bring signs, pots and pans, and prepare to make noise.
Plans are coming together for SF Bay, Chicago, New York, Boston and cities around the country. List yours HERE. See Veterans for Peace Call to Act December 1-6.
Watch for a press release and flyer you can distribute.
