Pro-choice supporters from 17 states began arriving in Omaha last night.
Along with the car-pools and clinic escorts, Terry O’Neil, President of the National Organization for Women (NOW) Kathy Spillar from the Feminist Majority Foundation, Emilie Ailts of NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado joined local NOW leaders and Debra Sweet, National Director of World Can’t Wait, in defending Dr. Carhart today at the clinic.
News coverage on CNN has been running all day, picturing the turnout. Operation Rescue is expected to be at the clinic on Saturday.
A friend flying in from California has spent $900 on airfare himself to get out to Omaha this weekend. He said of the cost, “Anything is worth it to defend the clinics and abortion rights.”
Women’s lives are on the line. Donate here support those in Nebraska, and the mission of building political support for Dr. Carhart, especially in Omaha.
