Why is the Government Continuing to Suppress These Photos? And Why Should We Show Them?

 By Debra Sweet

There are some 2,000 photos not released by the Defense Department under Bush, which the ACLU is still seeking.  What difference does it make if people see more photos of the detainee torture and abuse?

Well, you could ask what interest the Obama administration has in suppressing them.  It’s true that much of this information is already known, given the leaks by foreign press, and people in the US military who originally, and courageously, in some cases, took the photos and made them public.  But the fact that the government can suppress them with impunity, on the excuse that releasing them will endanger American military more than the fact that torture and indefinite detention of civilians is widespread and systemic from Iraq, Afghanistan, and in Guantanamo and the Bush secret prisons, is an outrage.

I look at websites and stories such as this and laugh. If you HATE America and the government so much LEAVE. I’m sure that there are many countries where you would be much happier. N. Korea, Iran, China, etc….For your criticism of the government you would be taken from your homes and be tortured and imprisoned in ways that make Americans look like a bunch of amateurs. It cracks me up when you denounce these interrogation methods, yet you will be the first people to scream in outrage when the next terrorist attack happens in the United States. You will be staging your protests wondering why our government did not do more to prevent it. You do realize that the very people that you defend if given the chance would cut off your head and spit on your corpse. So sure keep defending them, a matter of fact I encourage all of the world cant wait members to take a field trip to Pakistan or Afghanistan, hell even Iraq and declare your loyalty to these terrorists, because there is
nothing I would love to see more than you with a hood on your head begging the very government and soldiers that you detest to come rescue you as your head is about to be cut off. Oh wait we don’t know where you are being held since we can not interrogate the poor muslims anymore. Oh on another note I’m glad to see that your boy Obama who you so blindly supported is now sending MORE troops to Afghanistan. That sure worked out for you……suckers!!

Ah Scott… there is a fine line between right and wrong… good and bad… usually that line is skewed by something called necessity. You must be truely self-righteous like J to pass judgement. Or just completely naive and hoodwinked by the liberal media ajenda. Let he among you who is without sin cast the first stone.

Ah J but it is defensible… You see it is the very actions you detest that provide the blanket of freedom that you lay under while spewing liberal garb protests againts the so called “Empire”. Even if this “Empire” is not perfect (mostly because of liberal beaurocratic cockroaches like yourself) it is still the greatest nation in the world. If you detest this empire so, I (we the people) would be grateful if you would pack your bags and get the f*** out! Believe you me… you are the problem and not the solution. You are liberal human sewage. 🙂

    To America
It would seem the powers that be got you right where they want you…lurking on the internet and making incoherent statements defending the indefensible actions of the Empire instead of being a thinking a person with humanity and principles. Yep, they got you right where they want you.
