Some Reasons People are Signing the Letter to the Anti-War Movement

Posted on March 20, 2009

Los Angeles, CA  I am fed up with this war economy which has sunk this country into the depths of depression. Out of Iraq! Out of Afghanistan! Learn from the past and let’s have an era of peace! Shame on Obama! Shame on the Democrats! Shame on anyone who supports war!

San Antonio Texas It is important that we are a voice to counter US imperialism. Our foreign policy has, for too long, been the cause of much of the world’s misery. It’s time to end the capitalist, expansionist exploitation of other countries.

San Francisco, CA Continuing the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan is just going to make more Middle Eastern people hate America. If we really want to stop terrorism, we should start by ending our own imperialistic acts of terror that we perpetrate around the world under the guise of "spreading democracy."

Idaho I believe humans should be coming to a place when we can use our brains to resolve wars instead of our guns and bombs. Let’s evolve already!!! We can stop acting like animals any time now.

Pomona, CA I don’t believe Obama has any intention of stopping the imperialist war machine that is intent on terrorizing and globalizing all peoples of our planet. He has received the baton from Bush as the next war criminal and corporate shill.

Brooklyn, NY I believe passionately – as stated in the letter – that A) both wars are an abomination, and must be completely ended NOW, and B) mass mobilizations are a critically important tool for bringing about this result.

Brooklyn, NY We can’t afford to give Obama a "honeymoon" in Iraq and Afghanistan. The antiwar movement has to mobilize quickly and resolutely against his war policy, just as it should have done against Bush’s.

North Carolina I am truly sick of all the lies and flowery oratory (more lies) that result in death and misery for the People. I am sick of watching death merchants fill their pockets with bloody gold gleaned from terror, death and misery of the People.

Wisconsin For all of my entire life this US has been at war or threatening war and it’s been incessant. How can it be possible that all other nations have always been wrong and we are always right? There’s something radically wrong with this picture.

Portland Oregon Obama is not going to end the war in Iraq. He will leave at least 50.000 combat troops who will be given a different name in place. Nothing from him about the mercenaries and contractors leaving. It’s a sham, folks. Don’t fall for it.
