In response to the copious
complexities and outrageousness of the Bush Regime, WCW has invited
people of all backgrounds to participate in a stimulating discovery
about what has been happening to our nation and to our world during
the past 8 years; and, to discover how those circumstances have impacted
you and those dear to you.
To that end we have assembled
a suggested reading list:
Impeach
the President, Professors Dennis Loo and Peter Phillips
End of America,
Naomi Wolf
You Have
No Rights, Matthew Rothschild
Shock Doctrine,
Naomi Klein
Oil, Power
and Empire, Larry Everest
Enemy Combatant,
Moazzam Begg and Victoria Brittain
The Bush
Tragedy, Jacob Weisberg
A People’s
History of American Empire, Howard Zinn
Cruel and
Unusual, Mark Crispin Miller
Although we would encourage
you and your local WCW Book Club to read the selected books in the recommended
order, there are no specific “rules.” Whether you are a WCW
Book Club leader or a member, it is up to you and your fellow members
to decide how you will proceed and at what rate, when and where you
will meet to discuss you thoughts on these books.
You may purchase your book
anywhere, however, it would help WCW fulfill its vital mission of driving
out the Bush regime if you and your fellow WCW Book Club members purchased
them through the Book Store or Amazon via our web site, www.worldcantwait.org. You can access the Book Store directly
from our home page by clicking on BOOK STORE in the upper right-hand
portion of the home page. Once you have access to our Book Store, there
will be an option for you to purchase the book(s) of your choice or
to go directly to Amazon.com from there.
For your convenience, you may
click on the list above to access prepared discussion questions, which
are intended to facilitate your WCW Book Club to draw your own conclusions
about what has been done; what should be done now; and what you personally
are willing to do or not do about it all.
If you have any questions or
ideas you wish to share about your experience as a WCW Book Club member,
please feel free to contact Barbara Zaha at 630 584-6074 or via e-mail
at barbara@worldcantwait.org.
HAPPY READING!
