Caught Around Campus
January 2008

The
UCLA campus isn’t known for its political activism in the way UC
Berkley is, but that doesn’t mean students aren’t actively involved and
concerned. On the issue of human rights, there are many organizations
that feel strongly about the injustices being carried out by President
Bush and his administration.
On Jan. 11 a group of students participated in a national campaign
calling an end to the torture that has been inflicted by our country.
The main event of the day was a demonstration of water boarding, a
particularly brutal form of torture used for interrogation.
