The IAEA website is reporting than Iran is allowing its inspectors access to the Arak reactor early next
week. Further talks are planned between
the IAEA and the Iranian government to be held in Tehran on the 20th of August.
The visit was agreed to in a meeting where issues related to
Iran
past nuclear program, and safeguard implementations.
“Early next week, IAEA inspectors will visit the Arak reactor as we agreed
the last time. Then a week later, our team will go to Iran to talk
about other outstanding issues such as plutonium contamination. In the weeks to
come, we will then talk about other outstanding issues that are related to Iran’s
enrichment program.” – Olli Heinonen, IAEA Deputy Director General for Safeguards
All this is occurring as Bush & Co. is telling us that Iran is
non-cooperative on the issue of its alleged nuclear enrichment program.
I find it interesting that Iran,
who has said many times that its nuclear program is only for peaceful purposes
and is allowing inspectors into facilities, is being harassed by the U.S. Yet Israel,
who has made threats of attacks with tactical nuclear weapons against Iran,
faces no criticism at all.
