…to Help His Family Leave the U.S. after 9/11
By Kenneth J. Theisen, 6/21/07
We all know how hard the Bush regime is working in the
so-called “war on terrorism.” It has used the excuse of waging this alleged war
for the illegal wars it launched in Afghanistan
and Iraq. (It may use it as one of its excuses to do
the same in launching a war against Iran.) The “war on terrorism” has provided the
justification for torture, massive spying, diminution of due process rights and
many other crimes committed by the regime.
In a recent article we detailed how even young children of alleged
terrorists were arrested and interrogated for months at an adult prison. (See “Human
Rights Report Reveals Further Abuse of “Ghost Detainees” Held by Bush Regime”). Therefore you may conclude that the relatives
of Osama bin Laden would receive special scrutiny in any investigations
conducted in the “war on terror.” But
this appears not to be the case.
On June 20, 2007 Judicial Watch, a public interest group
that investigates government corruption,
released new documents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation related
to the “expeditious departure” of Saudi nationals, including members of the bin
Laden family, from the United States following the 9/11 attacks.
According to one of the formerly confidential documents, dated 9/21/2001, Osama
bin Laden may have even chartered one of the flights that flew family members
out of the country. The documents also call into question the special treatment
that bin Laden family members received.
Unlike the children in the Ghost Detainees story above, they faced
minimal or no questioning. I am sure the
fact that the President’s father, George H.W. Bush, worked with the bin Laden
family business in Saudi
Arabia through the Carlyle Group had no
effect at all on this special treatment.
For our readers who would like to know more about the
special consideration that bin Laden’s family received and to look at the
documents that show this, please go to http://judicialwatch.org/6322.shtml. It makes very interesting reading and shows
the hypocrisy of the Bush regime.
