On January 20, 2007, just 2 days before the 34th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, up to 20,000 anti-choice protesters descended upon San Francisco to preach their narrow and hateful brand of Christian fundamentalism. The anti-choice, anti-gay, and anti-science rally was nothing other than a provocation to a city known for tolerance and progressive values.
But close to 1,000 pro-choice people came out to counter-protest the “Walk for Life”. At a time when too often the pro-choice side is silent or defense in the face of a Christian fundamentalist onslaught that aims at nothing short of establishing a theocracy in the United States, this pro-choice outpouring is a breath of fresh air. Below are pictures taken by World Can’t Wait organizers participating in the pro-choice activities.

SF’s finest cut the sound from World Can’t Wait…
And barricade off the pro-choicers from the “Walk for Life” rally…
In an attempt to prevent the “Right to Life” marchers from hearing the reality of what an abortion is and why women need to have control over their bodies to be equal members of society.
