You are outraged that your government is torturing people, and Bush and Congress just recently legalized this torture (as well as gutted the basic legal right of habeus corpus) with the Military Commissions Act.
You went to the voting booth last Tuesday in hopes that a Democratic majority will repeal the Military Commissions Act and put an end to the torture going in at Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo Bay, Baghram air force base, and elsewhere. You do not want to live a nation of torturers, and want representatives in Congress who share that view.
What are the Democrats saying they will do about torture and the Military Commissions Act now that they will have a majority in Congress?
