National Emergency Teach-ins sponsored by WORLD CAN’T WAIT–DRIVE OUT
THE BUSH REGIME and the BUSH CRIMES COMMISSION are scheduled to occur
in 25 cities across the U.S. over the next week.
On Monday, October 30, at 7pm at Cathedral of St. John the Divine in
New York City (110 & Amsterdam), the epidemiologist DR. LES ROBERTS
who recently co-authored a report offering startling evidence that
655,000 Iraqis have died in the US invasion and occupation (a far
higher figure than the US government reported) will be speaking with
best-selling author and war correspondent CHRIS HEDGES, Center for
Constitutional Rights Legal Director BILL GOODMAN, author and organizer
of the Bush Crimes Commission LARRY EVEREST, and author of “How the
Pro-Choice Movement Saved America: Freedom, Politics, and the War on
Sex” CRISTINA PAGE.
Debra Sweet, National Coordinator of World Can’t Wait talking about the
purpose of these events said “The very nature of U.S. society and its
relationship to other countries is being reshaped in horrific ways
before our eyes. Yet the full implications of these sweeping changes
are not widely understood, even among those who oppose the Bush
administration. The teach-ins are aimed at changing this situation.”
The New York City gathering will be WEBCAST beginning at 9:00 pm
eastern time and available for the following 2 weeks; information is

In Berkeley on November 1 and in San Francisco on November 2, Larry
Everest will be joined by the courageous Salvadoran death squad victim
and survivor CARLOS MAURICIO of the Stop Impunity Project.
RAY MCGOVERN who was one of the CIA’s senior-most analyst preparing the
George H.W. Bush’s Daily Brief and later co-founded Veteran
Intelligence Professionals For Sanity (VIPS), will speak in
Spencertown, NY.
Teach-ins are also planned for Washington DC, Seattle, Chicago,
Cleveland, Maui, San Francisco and dozens of other cities, towns,
schools, churches, homes and community centers. People will gather to
listen to speakers, watch DVDs of the Bush Crimes Commission Hearings,
or view the New York event streaming over the Internet.
The teach-ins come on the heels of nationwide World Can’t Wait protests
on October 5 in 230+ cities aimed at Driving Out the whole Bush Regime
program before 2008.
