October 5th was an exciting day in sleepy Sarasota, FL. About 200 of us lined the busy downtown bayfront holding signs and chanting “Hey hey, hey ho, the Bush regime has got to go.” We had some informal speakers, reading the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, and encouraging people to vote.
We then marched down Main Street, waving flags, holding signs, and chanting. People came out of their businesses, chanting and waving with us. We had a lot of support from the locals! The true test of dedication, 200 people standing and marching in 90 degree weather with no shade! The media was also there but unfortunately some of them confused 10/5 with our Cheney protest which took place the next day.
