In Austin 300 people gathered at the capitol lawn with signs, banners, and World Can’t Wait tee-shirts. It opened with a reading from the call, music by Funk Shui, and speakers which included Laurie Felker Jones from Texas NARAL and Charlie Jackson from Texans for Peace. A group of about 50 people began a spontaneous march towards the end of the rally, even without an official march permit. They chanted slogans through the streets and came back energized. Channel 8 News Austin, KVUE, opened their evening broadcast with coverage of the rally.
