In Salt Lake about 50 people attended the noon protest outside the City County Building at Washington Square. We stood on a busy corner with huge signs denouncing the mainstream media’s lack of accurate reporting on torture and war. It was a very good crowd. We got no local media coverage. Thousands of people drove by and saw us, and may have noticed the media blackout.
About 15 people attended the 5pm vigil in the pouring down rain. The good news is that there were folks at both events who have never or often haven’t attended any protests. There were also people of all political pursuasions, including Republicans who are dissatisfied with the Bush Regime.
