An urgent and powerful letter against the recent moves of legalizing torture by Juan Flavio Galindo
the President of the International Student Organization at Columbia College in Chicago.
We have now come to a defining moment where before the world’s eyes the US Congress is poised to legalize torture. To anyone of conscience, this is unacceptable. But this is exactly what your government will be making legitimate. With bi-partisan support, the “Military Commissions Act of 2006” will be made law unless people act to stop it. I am writing to all of you not as a representative, activist, or revolutionary, but as a conscious human being that refuses to support and endorse Bush’s acts and crimes. I urge you to unite, act and support this movement in driving the Bush administration out.
WE MUST MARCH OUT ON OCT. 5TH AND DEMONSTRATE OUR OPPOSITION TO HIS CRIMINAL AGENDA!
Torture is illegal and we cannot endorse this. This is a defining moment in history…Together, we can do something really substantial!
All out for October 5th!
Juan Flavio Galindo
President of the International Student Organization, Columbia College, Chicago.
