ONE YEAR LATER:
On Sunday, Sept. 3, to mark the 1-year anniversary of Katrina, the NYC
chapter of The World Can’t Wait – Drive Out the Bush Regime, is joining
with NYC-based jazz musicians to march through the streets of Harlem.
We will begin with a dirge, marching solemnly in mourning of those who
were killed, criminalized, and abandoned at the hands of the Bush
administration. Then we will burst forward to a joyous New Orleans beat
as we declare that we will NEVER FORGIVE or FORGET – WE WILL DRIVE OUT
THIS REGIME.
NOTE TO MUSICIANS: Music will most likely include BALM IN GILEAD (f
concert), SAINTS, (Bb concert), and others. (suggestions please). We
will
have copies of BALM. All musicians are welcome, and we especially will
need trombones and CLARINETS.
