Bright and early, the bus tour made its way to Springdale, Arkansas where Vice President Dick Cheney was fund raising on behalf of Asa Hutchinson, who’s running for governor. The World Can’t Wait – Drive Out the Bush Regime, along with the OMNI center for Peace and Ecology, staged a protest.
With Israel’s continued invasion and attacks against Palestine and
Lebanon, and with U.S. continued support of Israel, the escalation of
violence in the Middle East sets the stage for the U.S. to attack Iran,
who has been an enemy of Israel and has shown support with Lebanon.
Dick
Cheney represents the lies the Bush regime told in waging a murderous
and utterly illegitimate war in Iraq, and the posturing this regime has
taken against Iran’s nuclear program along with the current situation
in the mid-east sets the stage for an U.S. led attack on Iran.
An inspiring moment after the protest happened when one of our
organizers spoke with a citizen of Springdale who was also protesting.
After learning about our bus tour he came over to her and said,
“Yesterday, I didn’t think we could drive out the Bush regime. Today I
do.”
What
followed was more outreach. Today we were at the University of
Arkansas. The student union was filled with high school students
because of orientation. These upcoming freshmen were very enthusiastic
and want to start a chapter when school starts.
This bus tour has
reached so many people with the message of driving out the Bush regime,
almost all who have never heard of this movement, but have become
inspired by it.
