After subjecting thousands of people to broken levees and leaving
them to die when Hurricane Katrina hit, FEMA gave 87,100 families in
the Gulf region lightweight trailers that cannot stand up to the
weather. So first they don’t give adequate protection or rescue you
from a hurricane, and then after you’re left homeless, they give you
substandard housing that will not survive another hurricane. Despite
all of Bush’s promies, as the hurricane season approaches, 87,100
families are stuck in homes surrounded by dangerous debris that has not
yet been cleaned up, and at risk of losing their homes again. Will you
allow a government with such a callous disregard for human lives to
stay in power? Or will you resist?
