In a deal with the White House, Senators have allowed the NSA to spy
without warrants with some Congressional oversight. The agreement
allows for warrantless wiretaps for up to 45 days, and will create a 7
member “terrorist surveillance subcommittee” in Congress. This deal
means there will be no investigation into the blatanly illegal NSA spy
program, and will stamp out any opposition in Congress. The fact is,
the NSA spyng, the Patriot Act, FBI and Pentagon surveillance on
anti-war protests, and the host of other police state measures are all
part of the fascist direction the Bush regime is moving in, and need to
be stopped, not allowed to continue with a little oversight and a few
petty changes.
