Your government is moving to deny women here, and all over the world, the right to birth control and abortion.
In an 8-0 ruling, the Supreme Court yesterday overruled an
injunction against anti-abortion groups blocking access to clinics. The
lifting of this injunction will only give encouragement to
fundamentalist anti-abortion groups who have threatened and murdered
doctors and clinic workers, blockaded clinics, harassed patients, and
use blatantly false information to discourage abortion. Meanwhile, the
allies of this far-Right movement in the White House, Supreme Court,
and Congress will continue moving to outright outlaw abortion. Just
look to South Dakota, where a law banning all abortions (with the only
exception being when a woman’s life is at risk) and charging doctors
who perform abortions with felony charges was just passed, with
lawmakers expecting a favorable Supreme Court to uphold this outrageous
law.
