Your government is moving to deny women here, and all over the world, the right to birth control and abortion.
South Dakota lawmakers are seizing on what they see as a
favorable Supreme Court to pass a law outlawing all abortion.
The law states that “life begins at the time of conception”, only makes
an exception when a woman’s life is at risk, and would charge abortion
doctors with a felony. Already in South Dakota there is only one
abortion clinic in which doctors are flown in from out of state, making
abortion very difficult to access.
Just listen to what State
Representative Roger Hunt said in relation to the recent appointments of Roberts and Alito to the Supreme Court:
“I’m convinced that the timing is right for this.”
And on the possibility of Justice Stevens’ retirement:
“The
strong possibility of a third appointee sometime soon makes this all
very real and very viable. I think it will all culminate at the right time.”
