There were three sites around the area holding “Drown Out Bush’s Lies” demonstrations at the time of the State of The Union EMERGENCY. The weather was cold and rainy, a really cruddy night.
There was a drownout at Central Square in Cambridge, at Davis Square, and one other. At one place, people gathered and handed out the youth and student newsletter. This was organized by a group with a name along the lines of Brookline Peace and Justice. One protestor reported that she really didn’t want to come out on such a miserable night, but had been following the Bush Crimes Commission Tribunal, heard Gore Vidal speak that day and felt she had to do something.
In Davis Square, the group at times was upwards to 50 or so people, including The Second Line Social Aid Pleasure Society Brass Band, who had flyers with all the info for Drowning Out Bush’s Lies, and the WCW website as well as their contact information. The Billionaires for Bush also showed up at this event and the crowd was very spirited!
