6 former EPA administrators spoke out this past week on the need to
stop global warming, while the Bush regime continues to ignore the
problem. 5 of the former administrators are Republicans. While
scientific consensus shows that global warming is caused by human
activity, the Bush regime continues to deny and distort science and
continue on its disastrous course. It still refuses to sign the Kyoto
Protocols or treaties to limit CO2 emmissions. This
despite all the evidence that greenhouse gas emmissions trap heat in
the atmosphere, causing global warming. Powerful right-wingers like
Senator James Inhofe (R., Okla.), who once termed global warming a
“hoax,” works to block legislation with false testimony that flies in
the face of established scientific research. While the polar ice caps
melt and we begin to see and suffer from the beginning effects of
global warming, the Bush regime refuses to do anything to stop this,
despite warnings even from Republicans.
