“This will not be easy. If we speak the truth, they will try to silence us. If we act, they will to try to stop us. But we speak for the majority, here and around the world, and as we get this going we are going to reach out to the people who have been so badly fooled by Bush and we are NOT going to stop.”
–The Call to Drive Out the Bush Regime
Today’s Reason to Drive Out the Bush Regime:
Crawford, TX bans First Amendment, Sends Protesters to Jail
Twelve anti-war protesters were arrested and sent to jail yesterday for setting up camp outside of Bush’s ranch in Crawford, Texas. The protesters had gathered to confront Bush about the war on Iraq during his Thanksgiving ranch visit, taking up the same method as Cindy Sheehan did when she first boldly stepped into the hearts and minds of the people of the world this past August.
A few weeks after hundreds of anti-war protesters swarmed the Bush ranch earlier this year to join up with Cindy, the local county government banned any kind of camping on public property within several miles of the presidential ranch — sending a direct message to the people not to dare challenge Bush (and everything that he represents). This has not deterred the Crawford 12 and it will not deter many more from returning to the ranch, including Cindy Sheehan who is returning later this week.
Let this blatant disregard for the Constitutional rights of the people show you the nature of this regime and the direction of things to come.
Will you let it all go on unabated, or will you put everything you can into the movement to drive this regime out?
