Yesterday, the Senate passed a Bill that bans Guantanamo prisioners
from petitioning for a writ of habeus corpus to US civilian courts. In
other words, “enemy combatant” detainees at Guantanamo Bay will
continue to be held by the order of President Bush, without any real
way to challenge their indefinite detention without charges.
Now with Senate approval, the Bush regime is trampling on the rule
of law and rights of detainees in order to hold indefinitely and
torture those it deems “enemy combatants”. Will you accept a future in
which President Bush and the military have a free hand to hold and
treat prisoners however they wish? Or will you resist?
The World Can’t Wait! Drive Out the Bush Regime!
