Someone needs to shut this asshole the fuck up. Go protest against the law makers who decide to go to war, the military just carries out what they want. You need to think a little more douche bag and think about who you’re bad mothing before you open up that fucking commie pie hole of yours
yes, protest recruiters from recruiting people from school. but don’t try to stop recruiting period, find the recruiters who lie and deceive and protest them. Every recruiter I’ve met in my state has told me the truth and haven’t tried to deceive me at all, they don’t promise me glory, or to be a national hero. they tell me whats going on, and what they have told me is true. i joined the army knowing exactly what im getting into. i know im probably going to be deployed. there are other country’s who want to cause harm, like north Korea, in north Korean elementary schools the children are taught hate songs about America, and north korea is building its military and testing missiles. the only thing stoping them from taking over north america, is that we have to best and most advanced army in the world. im not saying the war in iraq and Afghanistan is okay. im saying choose what your fighting carefully. make it clear that your against recruiters recruiting in school and lying/deceiving
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. — John Stuart Mill, English economist & philosopher (1806 – 1873)
This is the best example of the free-loading society running rampant in America. Our Nation only has two boarders to watch whereas virtually every other nation has to watch every side for potential conflict. Our people have gotten such an attitude because of this that we do not need to be a part of the world and all that matters is “reality TV,” iPods, xbox, and WoW. What these people fail to comprehend is that those of use who are in the armed forces are doing it so that they can remain that way. So that all of the people in our country can be comfortable and live the lifestyle that they want to. It is childish, idiotic, and flat out rude that someone would advocate against those that protect them. Military personnel are people too, yet they put their lives on the line to make sure everyone is accounted for and safe in America. Throwing garbage at recruiters and shouting slurs on high school campuses is not the way to go about stating your dissatisfaction. The world will keep moving and keep on fighting whether a bunch of spoiled children want it to or not. War well forever remain a piece of this world as it is a means by which people gain their independence (as we did), freedom from persecution (as we did), and right to live (as everyone should). That is not to say that all wars are just, however that is what we are here for. We seek to protect those who are innocent and prohibit the false minded aggressors (i.e. Adolf Hitler in 1941). All things considered, a four year requirement of duty after the military paying for four years of college isn’t a bad trade at all. As a final note, what do these people advocating military defiance have to say about this: How was this country made free and the rights, freedoms, and liberties that they all enjoy delivered? Sacrifice, dedication, and man power; if we hadn’t fought for our own independence and that of other countries we wouldn’t be as strong and secure a nation as we are today. Because of our selfless acts abroad we now have many allies that will go to war with us, that will defend us in our time of need, and most importantly look out for us. Many people sitting in front of an xbox fail to realize that abroad there are tons of threats on the US that other countries (our hard earned allies) neutralize. People accuse the military of spending too much on research and technology. The only way the United States military as remained on top is by being ten years ahead of all other competition. If you want the US to slack off and not continue to develop, to stop training, and to forget about the world then fine. All that will happen is that we will fall behind (like World War 1) and then the US will be the next prime target. We have so much land and resources that any country dreaming of expansion would waltz right in.
Are you kidding? I guess this generation of peaceful, Xbox, Ipod junkies has forgotten how it is that we in this country are FREE! Yes, you can protest because soldiers ensure your Freedom. Maybe you’d prefer to live in South Korea where males 18 and up are required to spend 2 yrs service in their army and paid almot nothing for it. Maybe your generation would prefer a communist run America with free health care, free housing, free food… o-yeah China has an army too! Wonder if they volunteer or are volun”told”. Keep your protest going, but understand that your rights are protected by your military!
