An extraordinary event took place on
Sunday, August, 24, at the Cleo Parker Robinson Theater in Denver. 300
people gathered to hear speeches by prominent representatives of the
movements against the war, repression, and torture of the Bush Regime.
Insightful and deep analysis, scathing exposure, painful remembrances
of the horrors of this regime and the system in whose interests it acts,
and determined expressions of opposition and calls for the need for
further resistance were
repeatedly greeted with applause from a rapt
and energetic audience. People in attendance were repeatedly moved to
stand and applaud, to salute and send their love and appreciation to
the speakers, and sometimes to tears. The evening ended with all the
speakers joining Cleo Parker Robinson on stage for a group reading of
the Pledge of Resistance, joined by the audience.
The following are audio clips of the
evening’s speeches. A full video of the event is forthcoming.
