Tell everyone
you know around the country: on these days, let’s protest military recruiting
for the illegitimate war in Iraq. What are they recruiting youth to
do? Should they be stopped? Should they be evicted? Should they
be shut down through the mass action campaigns of the people, including
protests and nonviolent civil resistance?
| Organizing Materials for event |
Where high school students have to pass the
recruiters everyday to get to the cafeteria, there should be protests.
Where recruiters phone kids every night, or follow them in the malls,
parents should say NO! Recruiters have NO right to do their “business”
if the Iraqi people are to have their right to live free of this horrific
war and occupation.
* Friday, April 18 (in some cities,
April 19). Protest, rally, march, creatively and powerfully act together
on this Iraq Moratorium Day. Deliver the recruiters eviction notices.
Challenge recruiters to debates at school.
* Saturday, May 17: Armed Forces Day,
a perfect occasion for people across the country to speak out and act
in concert to say NO to military recruiters, NO to this illegal and
immoral war/occupation, and NO to everything the Bush regime concentrates.

Achieve Global Professional Selling Skills…need satisfaction selling. You need something, let me show you how you’re going to get it. That’s the brainwashing? If so, then you are brainwashed into buying a car, voting for the next President, determining which car insurance to purchase, etc. There are plenty of ways to find out information, but when a young man or woman is called, he has the right to say yes or no to an interview. So stop twisting the truth to your benifit (or trying to brainwash me)…you know, I take that back, keep it up. You make my job easier since I have facts in front of me ( I use the internet, to include your website.) Your website draws the funniest remarks from these future leaders of America. Oh, and to reply to the comment made by Elaine Bower…Sen. McCain has two sons in the military, one in the Marines (like you) and one in the Navy.
It would be important to note that revelations and information about recruiting tactics is becoming more known, but that all recruiters may not and some would not behave in this way, once they understand the truth. Just as some soldiers lay down their weapons and some officers refuse orders to deploy, recruiters can with conscience and moral imperative stop recruiting for empire.
Soldiers of Misfortune link below. Read it. It is documented evidence about how US children as young as 12 have become focus for recruitment as well as how children inhabit US detention (torture) centers. As prisoners.

Hey ProudUSN, recruiting like the video in the link?
First off we are not trained to “brainwash ” young men at age 15. WE can’t start talking to them about the militray until they are 17 and a senior in high school. And second… if we have millions of dollars for “toys” and thing for recruiting… I’d like to know where that is cause I could definately use some of that to take the young men and women who “VOLUNTEER” to serve their country out to lunch or dinner. Like I said above, it’s an all volunteer force, all we are around to do is to get the information to the young men and women who want it and to help them achieve a goal and dream they have to serve their country and actually do something with their life that is worth wild.
The US is engaged in an aggressive, pre-emptive war of invasion and occupation. This is a violation of international law, and a crime against humanity.
US foreign policy and/or any new law cannot supercede international law, nor international treaties signed by the US and others. This war is a crime.
Therefore:
Recruiters have a moral obligation to refuse to recruit troops who will be ordered to participate in brutal aggression of this kind. Troops and their commanders have an obligation by military standards, and a moral imperative, to refuse orders toward unlawful and criminal deployments in readiness to commit atrociites born of the monstrous nature of this kind of war.
The suffering of the Iraqi people is unspeakable. The immediate and ongoing physical and psychic suffering of soldiers ordered to commit these horrible acts is profound.
It is wrong to stand aside and allow this to continue. Standing aside and allowing this to continue is just like knowing a terrible rape and murder is about to be committed, and doing nothing to stop it. Nothing. One becomes an accessory to the crime. Complicit.
Anyone who hates this war, and wants this war to stop needs to stand up and say no to recruiting for it…and no to fighting for it.
So…to military recruiters everywhere….
Stay out of our schools! Cuz this what you get! An army of none! An army of none!
Get out of our cities, cuz this is what you get! An army of none!An army of none!
People keep saying over and over that the troops are over fighting for ‘our freedom’. They are not in Iraq fighting for anyone’s freedom, neither Iraqi nor American. Troops are in Iraq fighting to protect corporate interests. Interests based upon huge profits from military contracts with giant corporations making a real killing off this war, and with the potentiality of making giant profits off of Iraq’s oil fields. It was Pres. Roosevelt who said, “We must especially beware of that small group of selfish men who would clip the wings of the American eagle in order to feather their own nests.” These war profiteers have led a false war for false reasons for profit only, and for no other purpose and in doing so have allowed terrorism to blossom, thus putting our country in further peril. This is treason. True patriots should neither fight for this nor allow themselves, or others, to be recruited into this treasonous, murderous and illegal occupation.
I have to disagree about recruiters because I know first hand how they “operate.” First off, they are trained to brainwash young boys (especially) starting at the age of 15. They have millions of dollars worth of “toys” to do this. That’s our tax money, and if a kid wants to serve for being patriotic, then that’s up to them, not the recruiter to brainwash them.
Secondly, they are allowed to roam around anywhere there are kids: malls, high schools, even middle-schools, job fairs, etc. It is not a job. Again, if someone wants to “serve” their country, they should just do it. They know where there is a “career center.”
I couldn’t stop my son from joining at the age of 17, and he didn’t need toys or incentive bonuses, he was and is in his mind, serving his country as a patriot. So why the hell do we need thousands upon thousands of recruiters with all these gadgets and empty promises.
Those who want to fight in a war, will do so. end of story. Get rid of recruiters in schools and they should stop harrassing our kids. They ARE THE PROBLEM, and if you want a real war, START A DAMN DRAFT. Stop sending the same soldiers and marines back to the same damn war zone. If we truly are fighting terror around the world, then tell the chickenhawks to send their kids!
This website is aweome! I am an American by birth and a Marine by choice! Since 1973 the United States Military has been an all-volunteer force. Has that fact been forgotten? Hasn’t that been the preferred method for service to this country? Would you prefer people be chosen to serve vice choose to serve? Recruiters are not the problem. They are part of the solution. America is the home of the free because of the brave. Someone has to educate young men and women about the RISK AND REWARDS of service to this great nation. Semper Fidelis!
Well jmill how wonderfully uneducated of you to imply that people in the Middle East have no freedoms.
If you actually research the Iranian Student Movement and what that means for the people of Iran you might change your mind. Unlike in the United States, with its heavy-handed imperialist individualism, in Iran the masses of students flood the streets every year and periodically throughout to express themselves politically and socially in ways this country has not seen since the 60’s.
Furthermore the freedoms you think you enjoy or are afforded to you due to our “Divine Constitution” the covenant between slaveowners and a nonexistent god is a paperweight. This country is moving in a very fascistic and repressive direction it’s going to be the only way for the ruling class to squelch turmoil and squash dissent. If you don’t happen to be a wealthy middle-aged white landowner, or the wife of one prepare to live in fear or fight in the streets.
Hi there and welcome, Mr. Mills.
A question:
You say the military recruits for “defend(ing) this nation and our peoples rights.”
How do you think this is done in the countries Iraq or Afghanistan, each having nothing to do with hurting “this nation” and/or “our people’s rights.” It has nothing to do with that objectively. I’ll give you that you (and other military personnel) might _subjectively_ believe otherwise. Unfortunately, that doesn’t make it a reality, however.
The military was around long before Bush was in power, and will be around long after. Regardless of who is in power, until the day the entire world truly has world peace, we will always have need to have a military in place. I know your organization doesn’t believe in this war or in our current president’s beliefs, but the fact remains that there will always be a need for a military. Military recruiters recruit for the love of the military and for the love of this country. We’re not recruiting for Bush’s-war†but to defend this nation and our peoples rights. The same rights that empower you with this website, are the same rights the let us recruiters set up lunch room displays in high schools. You’re welcome for that right.
First off I love the Web-Site. I feel we should show unified support to the Iraqi people and all move to the Middle East. Why protest and seem anti-American, when we can give up our freedoms and show true support.
Hmmm. Might try emailing the address above to see if Debra Sweet knows or can steer you in the right direction.
I’m an attorney in Arlington Virginia. Are there any planned events in my area this Saturday? We have a large military presence since we are just outside Washington D.C. I am not necessarily against our troops but this war needs to end.
