This is an ideological war, and these wars can never be successfully won. We haven’t won the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people as we failed to do in Vietnam, and as in Vietnam we have decimated another country, polluted it with chemicals and unexploded ordinance, and killed many of its citizens. Our accomplishments there are meger our failures legion. Our only course is to pull out of Iraq immediately knowing that the Iraqi people have the werewithall to govern their country and manage and gain benefit from their own resources.
