Demonstrators were able to reach the palace despite repression and tear gas

Khartoum Resistance Comm called protesters to withdraw from the vicinity after 2 hours due to the excessive violence against them. army and Police chased demonstrators using ammunition and tear gas. Huge crowds flocked to the palace, blocked roads using barricades before withdrawing. A large number came out in El Gezira, N Kordofan, El Gedaref, Kassala, Pt Sudan, Kosti, chanting power to the people. Huge crowds in Wad Madani headed towards Gen Secretariat before police intercepted them. Pt Sudan reported forces in armoured vehicle ran over a member of Resistance Comm; 4 cases of suffocation from tear gas canisters. Dabanga

Sen Coons and human rights activist Prendergast renewed calls to sanction military leaders who carried out the coup: The kleptocratic military throttled the nation’s economy and used it to enrich and entrench themselves. US Congress adopted the Sudan Democracy Act to impose targeted sanctions for undermining a civilian-led democratic transition, peace and human rights. The Sentry Project: Control over the state affords the security services continued opportunities to accrue wealth while shielding themselves from accountability for past and future abuses. Russia held talks with senior Sudanese military officials…suspected of involvement in military coup, Russian presence in Sudan. Political analyst says the visit to Russia by Hemeti was arranged by Wagner mercenaries to find a way out for their ally and ensure his continuation in power so they can continue to plunder the country’s resources. NUP renewed criticism, described the war against Ukraine as unjust war against a free people to force them to give up their sovereignty: The visit does not achieve Sudanese national interests. Communist Party of Sudan condemned the visit, stressing preservation of Sudan’s sovereignty and balanced relations with other nations…warned of the danger of Russian military base in Red Sea State which puts Sudan in crosshairs of conflict between US and Russia...calling for immediate withdrawal. Dabanga Kassala Court convicted 2 members of RSF of premeditated murder. The bloodshed on Oct 15, 2019 left 6 people dead and 20 injured, triggered by demonstrations in support of former governor, partly fuelled by Sovereign Council’s interference. Dabanga
