From Jewish Elders: Thousands of New Yorkers marched silently through the streets of Manhattan. The procession was led and organized by Jewish Elders. The marchers carried hundreds of effigies of children wrapped for burial, symbolizing the more than 10,000 children killed since October seventh. Amidst the rage and grief, the mourners demand ceasefire, an end to U.S. military funding of Israel and no more killing in the new year. Video footage here.

Magical and beautiful trouble-making took place at Travis Air Force Base, a huge military transport base in Fairfield, CA, on December 28. Organized primarily by SF Bay Area CodePink and Occupy Beale AFB, a coalition of local peace and justice and labor organizations and friends of Palestine, united over a three-week period, to plan for “Shut Down Travis AFB.” Travis has been sending US weapons to Israel during its three-month genocidal bombing campaign and siege on Gaza, thus making it complicit in the horrific indiscriminate killing and destruction that continues.
