Bush has chosen Michael Hayden, an air force general and the man
presiding over the NSA while it was spying on American citizens without
warrants. Hayden served as the director of the NSA from March
1999 to April 2005, meaning he had a direct hand in and knowledge of
the NSA’s warrantless wiretapping program. Hayden’s nomination
will also mean more military power and influence over what has
traditionally been a civilian agency, a trend that has been going on
across the board under the Bush regime.
The fact that the personnel changes in the Bush regime only mean
bringing in people who are even more fascistic than their predecesors
points to the relentless way in which this regime is out to cement
their program as the governing norm in society for generations to
come. While the Bush regime is experiencing some real problems
with corruption scandals and a war they can’t easily win, they are
determined to push forward and will not be stopped unless there is a
truly massive resistance from the people.
The World Can’t Wait! Drive Out the Bush Regime!
