Your government is openly torturing people, and justifying it.
Today’s NY Times reported on a little-known torture chamber where US
soldiers used Iraqi detainees for paintball gun target practice. Camp
Nama in Baghdad’s International Airport is kept out of sight from the
world, as detainees are refused any access to lawyers or family
members, and even the Red Cross is not allowed inside. The chilling
details of beatings, blindfolds, water-torture, and paintball practice
are likely only the tip of the iceberg of brutality. All this was
carried out by the highly secretive US military Task Force 6-26, with
one of their mottos being “if you don’t make them bleed, they can’t
prosecute for it.” A small number of rank-and-file soldiers have been
given minor punishments for the widespread torture, while top officials
presiding over Camp Nama have went un-punished. The torture has
continued after the first pictures from Abu Ghraib were revealed in
April 2004.
While Bush speaks of spreading freedom in Iraq, this is the reality
of what this regime is doing around the world (ironically in the very
same interrogation rooms used by the Hussein regime). Will you allow
this to continue? Or will you resist?
The World Can’t Wait! Drive Out the Bush Regime!
