Your government is moving each day closer to a theocracy, where a narrow and hateful brand of Christian fundamentalism will rule.
Christianity
will become the official religion of Missouri if a new law passes
through the Republican controlled state government. The law recognizes
“a Christian
god,” and would not protect minority religions, but “protect the
majority’s right to express their religious beliefs.” Sound like
theocracy to you?
Your government is moving to deny women here, and all over the world, the right to birth control and abortion.
Following South Dakota’s law banning all abortions (except when the
woman’s life is at risk) passed the state legislature last month,
Mississippi’s House of Representatives passed an abortion ban by 94-28.
What makes this even more grotesque is how some government officials
and fundamentalist anti-abortion groups are up in arms over the
exception the law makes for cases of rape and incest. Democrat Rep.
Deryk Parker said “Life begins at conception, God does not make
mistakes,” with his Republican counterpart Rep. Fillingane adding “The
product of that union is not criminal.” Pro-Life Mississippi President
Terri Herring said “We were disappointed that the rape and incest
exceptions were added. I think it’s our responsibility to have a pure
Pro-Life
message that has to be you don’t kill a child for the crime of his
father.”
Anti-abortion groups and politicians feel emboldened to pass laws
banning abortion now that Roberts and Alito are on the Supreme Court.
That which you will not resist and mobilize to stop, you will learn (
or be forced ( to accept.
The World Can’t Wait! Drive Out the Bush Regime!
