A high school teacher in Colorado has been suspended for telling the
truth to his students about the Bush regime. After Bush’s state of the
union, social studies teacher Jay Bennish exposed Bush’s ugly program
of unending imperial war, encroaching theocracy, and police state
measures at home, and showed the real similarities between Bush’s
rhetoric and Hitler’s. A student recorded the teacher’s remarks,
snitched to the principal, and Bennish was then put on leave.
In this case, what’s eerily similar to Nazi Germany is how students
are being encouraged to spy on their teachers and turn them in to the
authorities when they criticize the regime in power.
Right-wing groups and FOX News are in a frenzy over this. But many
students at Overland High School are outraged over the suspension of
their teacher who dared to speak the truth. 150 students walked out of
class Thurday in protest. This resistance must grow and gain support
throughout society, and attempts to punish or fire teachers like Jay
Bennish, and the overall chilling atmosphere in schools (where dissent
is being crushed) must be stopped.
That which you will not resist and mobilize to stop, you will learn (
or be forced ( to accept.
The World Can’t Wait! Drive Out the Bush Regime!
