The law states that “life begins at the time of conception”, only makes
an exception when a woman’s life is at risk, and would charge abortion
doctors with a felony. Already in South Dakota there is only one
abortion clinic in which doctors are flown in from out of state, making
abortion very difficult to access.
South Dakota lawmakers are seizing on what they see as a
favorable Supreme Court (with Alito and Roberts now on the bench) to
pass a law outlawing all abortion. Just listen to what said in
relation to the recent appointments of Roberts and Alito to the Supreme
Court:
“I’m convinced that the timing is right for this,” said State
Rep. Roger Hunt, “The
strong possibility of a third appointee sometime soon makes this all
very real and very viable. I think it will all culminate at the right time.”
Here’s what the Democrats are saying about this: [click here to listen]
Your government is moving to deny women here, and all over the world, the right to birth control and abortion.
At a time when the regime in power is moving quickly to outlaw
abortion, the Democrats have already capitulated to this, and many
pro-choice organizations are going along with this capitulation, it is
urgent that we mobilize massive opposition and stop Bush’s whole
program.
That which you will not resist and mobilize to stop, you will learn (
or be forced ( to accept.
