“Your government is openly torturing people, and justifying it.”
US soldiers who torture and kill detainees are rarely punished, and
if so it’s just a slap on the wrist. Only 12 of 34 cases have led to
punishment, and the longest sentence that has been given is 5 months.
Moreover, the cause of detainee deaths in almost half of the 98 cases
has never been announced, and the Pentagon has refused to release a
comprehensive report. War criminal Donald Rumsfeld claims there is no
problem, saying “some 250 have been punished in one way or another,”
but most of the perpetrators and none of those behind this
systematic torture and even murder of detainees have been charged with
any crime (example: Donald Rumsfeld).
If this is the small amount of information we know, imagine what is
going on behind closed doors at torture chambers in Eastern Europe, and
who is getting away with these crimes.
