The Bush regime lied (surprise, surprise) about when they were told
the levees had broken in New Orleans. The Department of Homeland
Security and the White House were informed Monday night (8/29) of the
levee breach, despite their earlier claims to only have discovered this
the following day. This means this regime knew full well about the
threat to 10’s of thousands of lives, but decided not to act to save
them.
Many Democrats continue to couch their criticisms in terms of
“incompetence” on the part of the administration, and Sen. Lieberman
justified the crime, saying “Information was in different places, in
that case prior to the
attack, and it wasn’t reaching the key decision
makers in a coordinated way for them to take action.”
The cold truth is that this regime knowingly allowed and in fact
caused the deaths of thousands, from its refusal to provide adequate
aid, to the sending in of the National Guard with “shoot to kill”
orders. This latest revelation of this regime’s lie about when it knew
lives were in danger only further confirms the criminal nature of its
actions and inaction around Hurricane Katrina.
