An organizer in New Jersey who is in the
ROTC at his High School,
but opposed to the war in Iraq, emailed information about the State of
the
Union protests to his friends serving in the US military in Iraq.
According to the New Jersey student, in an act of protest several
soldiers in Iraq
took it upon themselves to shoot off rounds of their guns in the air as
part of
symbolically drowning out Bush’s State of the Union speech.
