At 8:00 pm, 40 people stood outside Northampton City Hall with posters, pots, and pans making lots of noise and engaging others walking by. We received a lot of support as well as some unsolicited donations. The group of protestors consisted of Northampton and Amherst high school students, Mount Holyoke college students, U Mass and Smith college students, Mount Holyoke alumni, a retired women’s studies professor, and many others. The protest continued until 9:30 EST.
