“Your government, on the
basis of outrageous lies, is waging a murderous and utterly
illegitimate war in Iraq, with other countries in their sights.”
Yesterday, in an interview with CBS New’s
Bob Schieffer, President Bush declared that war with Iran was a
definite possibility if the country did not submit to US desires for
its government to cease its nuclear energy program. Bush mentioned
forming a “coalition of nations” to stop Iran from possessing nuclear
power by any means necessary — eerily similar to the call for a
“coalition of the willing” that went up when the Bush regime decided to
invade Iraq. This time around, the European Union seems much more open
to the possibility of war with Iran.
The Bush regime has displayed blatant
hypocrisy in its dealings with Iran, considering that the US itself
possesses thousands of nuclear weapons, and Israel in the Middle East
possesses hundreds of them. It is clear that those within the Bush
regime wishing to go to war with Iran are going all out right now to
pull the country in that direction. This makes the importance of the
movement to drive out the Bush regime even greater at this critical
moment. As the war-hawks in the government push harder for war with
Iran, we must push harder than ever to oust this criminal regime and
make sure that another country is not invaded in our names.
The World Can’t Wait! Drive Out the Bush Regime!
