Sunday, 12/4 – Today’s Reason to Drive Out the Bush Regime
When asked about secret CIA detention centers in Eastern Europe,
national security adviser Stephen J. Hadley told CNN: “If there were
such operations, these are the kinds of things we can’t talk about
publicly.”
Hadley went on to defend the US government’s use of rendition, where
“terrorist suspects” are taken to other countries where torture is more
openly used against detainees. In coded language and hazy
justifications for torture, Hardley said “sometimes mistakes get made
and people go over the line,” but went on to say that this was always
corrected. After all the pictures and lies, it is hard to believe that
torture isn’t going on at these CIA detention centers in Eastern Europe
recently revealed in the media. Furthermore, after numerous American
soldiers implicated in torture have blamed their superior officers and
the CIA for ordering torture, it is hard to believe either that these
are “mistakes” or that they are ever “corrected”. The fact is,
the Bush regime is openly torturing people in its “war on terrorism”,
proclaiming its right to do so, and officials like Hardley only further
reveal this through their Orwellian double-speak.
And if we don’t stand up and stop these outrages, then we are
complicit, just like the good Germans who stood by while horrors were
committed by the Nazi regime.
“Your government is openly torturing people, and justifying it.”
The World Can’t Wait! Drive Out the Bush Regime!
