“We do not torture” -George Bush
Yesterday, Bush got up in front of the world telling lies about Iraq
having weapons of mass destruction. And now he has the audacity to say ‘we do
not torture.’ This despite the fact that he has talked about vetoing a bill
from Congress banning the use of torture, and has been working with Cheney to
convince Congress not to pass this bill. This despite the fact that on the day
he proclaimed this lie, 5 US soldiers were charged with prisoner abuse for
kicking and punching detainees in Iraq.
This despite all the pictures, testimony, and horrific stories from Abu Ghraib
and Guantanamo Bay.
This despite the legal memos justifying torture authored by Attorney General Alberto
Gonzales, among others.
This latest lie from Bush is an outrage on top of an outrage
( this regime subjects people in Iraq and in secret military and CIA detention
centers across the globe to torture, and then gets in front of the TV and lies
about it. That which you will not resist
and mobilize to stop, you will learn ( or be forced ( to accept.
The world can’t wait! Drive out the Bush regime!
