Before the election, on Tuesday, World Can’t Wait Steering Committee member Dennis Loo wrote:
The U.S. president will carry forward a covert and quite probably overt war upon Iran and the other nations that are being occupied by U.S. forces, the privatization of core parts of the New Deal will continue, the gap between the 1% and the rest of us will grow wider and wider, global warming’s catastrophic impact on the planet will accelerate, devastating larger and larger swaths of the globe, women, minorities, LGBT folks, and immigrants will continue to catch hell, education will remain under siege from the privateers, the rule of law will be more and more openly replaced by executive actions and dissent will be further criminalized.

The endorsement of war crimes represented by a vote for either of the dominant parties is a tough pill to swallow for people of conscience. To say that it has always been a choice of two evils as a reason to endorse a proven war criminal for fear of losing your right as a woman or an lgbt person doesn’t speak to the reality and in fact flies in the face of reality. Obama spent his first four years “finding common ground” with the Christian right that more ground was actually ceded to them and at the same time committed egregious crimes against the people of the world. To say that it has always been a choice of two evils and vote for more of this out of fear lacks thought and imagination…one should ask themselves does it have remain that way and what can I do to change that?
