The Guantanamo Survivors Fund (GSF) supports the Muslim men striving to rebuild their lives after being released from the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
The survivors face significant hurdles: After suffering years of torture and imprisonment without charge, many have been transferred to countries far from their families, where they know no one, are stigmatized, receive little to no assistance, and have no legal status or permit to work. The men struggle with severe medical and psychological effects of the torture and indefinite detention they have endured.
GSF raises donations from individuals and provides survivors and their families with direct grants for basic needs such as housing, food, medical care, job training and transportation.
