Our friend Ann Wright, with whom we have worked and sought her advice for some two decades, addressed a gathering in Honolulu last week, hosted by World Can’t Wait Hawai’i, leading into protests of RIMPAC 2024, the giant war games led by the U.S.
Ann wrote recently, “As the United States increases its military confrontation with China through new military bases on Guam and the Philippines and more land, sea and air exercises with countries in the Asia-Pacific, the world’s largest naval war exercises are going to be held in the mid-Pacific from June 26 to August 2, 2024-and NATO is in the middle of it.”
Ann Wright served 29 years in the U.S. Army/Army Reserves and retired as a Colonel. She was also a U.S. diplomat for 16 years, but resigned in March 2003 in opposition to the U.S. war on Iraq. She lives in Honolulu, Hawaii and is a member of Hawaii Peace and Justice and Veterans For Peace. She is the co-author of “Dissent: Voices of Conscience.”
