This week the U.S. distinguished itself from every other nation on the UN Security Council by vetoing – for third time – a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Headlines, reporters and, most of all, people in Gaza are credibly screaming that the death, injury and starvation of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians can only by stopped if the U.S. stops funding and encouraging Israel.
Remember Biden’s deeply understated and cynical comment that the Israel assault on Gaza had gone “over the top?” A post on Instagram altered the photo below to show the ambassador’s hand dripping with blood as she signals the veto. There was push-back to say that image was too over the top. Really? What do you think?
Many of our friends are in the media calling for justice for millions in Palestine:

…Biden recently termed Israeli military operations “over the top.” Like his frequent pleas that Israel obey international humanitarian law, the President’s characterization was too weak and too late. Moreover, his actions have spoken louder than his words. If he were serious about civilian casualties, why would he want to send Israel more billions for weapons to be used against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank? Why would he oppose a ceasefire?
