Dozens of protestors across Sudan were injured by tear gas canisters, as well as a report of a protestor ran over by a Security Force vehicle; sound bombs and rubber bullets used to disperse demonstrators. Kosti Resistance Comm witnessed brutal use of bullets and tear gas…number of detainees exceeded 50, including children and girls as well as pre-emptive arrests of activists. Pt Sudan witnessed widespread attacks by Security Forces on peaceful demonstrators using tear gas, whips, batons. Authorities shut down main bridges that link 3 cities of the capital. Emergency Lawyers reported 100 detainees from Soba Prison were transferred to prisons in Debek, Kosti, Pt Sudan…describe this manoeuvre as a crime, an insidious operation to keep detainees from meeting relatives or lawyers. Authorities filed a complaint against the head of Combating Sexual Violence Agency, Sulima Ishaq, over rape cases of protesters by Security Forces. State Criminal Prosecution summoned her, accused her of leaking information about the rapes to UNITAMS. The case was open under article 47 of the Criminal Act (offence against the state); she had been released on bail. The complaint is related to a report by UNITAMS Head Perthes to UN Sec Council citing rape and gang rape by Security Svcs of women and girls who participated in anti-coup protests Dec 19.
