Al-Burhan dismissed western threats of sanctions tied to protests, and discussed meetings between Sudanese and Israeli officials he said were for security cooperation, not politics. He lauded ties with Israel, saying intelligence-sharing between the former adversaries helped arrest suspected fighters in his country. Sudan and Israel normalized relations as part of US-brokered deals between Israel and 4 Arab countries. The countries crafted security and intelligence relationships often in unannounced trips. Al-Burhan said the intelligence exchange enabled Sudan to dismantle and arrest suspected armed groups. Sudanese Security visited Tel Aviv last week, following a visit by Israeli officials including Mossad to Khartoum, Jan. Oct, Sudanese Justice Min and Israeli Ministers held a meeting in Abu Dhabi. Sudan was once one of Israel’s fiercest rivals. Dabanga
